Do you ever wonder why sometimes you don’t get the results or the things you want even after doing all the right things?

Has that ever happened to you – You follow all the steps, and yet somehow what you’re hoping for doesn’t happen?

If you’re like me, you’ll agree that this can be very frustrating.

Time for a change

A few years ago, I made a “New Year’s Resolution” to meet new people and make some new friends.

I’m somewhat of an introvert but was told that I needed to break out of my shell and get out there and meet new people. If I wanted to succeed in my business, I would need to make new connections and build new relationships.

After giving it some thought, I decided it was time to make a change. So, I signed up for a lot of networking groups and began anxiously venturing out into the world. I was going to meet new people and make some new friends.

I spent a whole year going to 2 networking meetings per month. I collected multiple phone numbers and email addresses. I followed up with phone calls and emails. I even met with some of the people over coffee. Some of them became my patients and supported my businesses and I did the same. They were truly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

Something was wrong…

In spite of all the efforts, meetings and support, I just couldn’t make a true connection. None of those people seemed to fit what I was looking for in a friend. I was perplexed at first. How could this be possible? Why was I struggling to make friends?

I wasn’t until years later, that I realized why I never connected with any of those nice people. You see, I had major trust issues at that time. However, when I was going to those meetings and meeting those people, I wasn’t fully aware of that yet. I just couldn’t understand why I wasn’t connecting with anyone and I was very frustrated.

When we don’t get what we want in life, we feel disappointed. But if we look closely, we’ll realize that the majority of the time we don’t get what we want, it’s because we never truly BELIEVED we could have it in the first place. As the inspirational quote of the week says, you will only attract what you are. In other words, you will only attract what you truly BELIEVE you can have.

I struggled to make friends back then, because the truth was I didn’t really trust people. I never truly believed they could become trusted friends. As such, it just never worked out. It wasn’t until I learned the truth about myself and what I believed to be true about the world and other people, that my life began to change in that area.

3 tips to attract what you want in life

It wasn’t easy to make friends at first. It was a journey and honestly, I’m still in that journey. In my process, I discovered the 3 tips I’m going to share with you today.

1. You must believe it!

It’s one thing to say, ” I want XYZ”; but It’s a whole other thing to believe you can have it. We all have limited beliefs that automatically guide what we do and shape how we see the world. These beliefs can stand in the way of us getting what we want.

If you truly want to achieve your heart desire, you must look within yourself and determine if you really believe you can get it. If you do than you’re in the right path. If you discover however that you don’t, then you need to find out why.

Once you understand why, you’ll be able to make a conscious choice; either to walk away and let this go or re-frame the limited belief preventing your success, and move forward. Either way, you need to know the truth about what you believe before you can get what you want. Believing in your dream isn’t enough, to get what you want, you must follow the next tip.

2. You must assert it!

Once you know for sure that you believe, you must assert it. There are a lot of distractions that will come your way and their objective is to distract you from your goal. You must find a way to persistently assert the outcome you want.

There are many ways to assert beliefs. You can do daily confessions. You can do visualizations. You can pray and meditate. You can write the outcome you want down on paper and post it around your house. You can share it with other people who will believe with you. You can even do voice memo’s on your phone to keep you focused.

I personally recommend doing all the methods I listed above. But, I do understand that they may not all work for you. So, find something that will work for you and do it. You must believe and you must assert the outcome you want before you can get it. But just following those two tips alone are still not enough. To secure what you want, you must implement this last tip.

3. You must act on it!

The simple fact remains that, in life, we are not rewarded for what we know, but for what we do. The first two tips focused on helping you get the right mindset and the determination to go after what you want. This tip, however is where the rubber meets the road.

Many times, people fail in this area because they overthink it. Taking action doesn’t have to be complicated nor does it need to be overwhelming. You can do only one thing per day towards your goal. It doesn’t have to be much, just one.

For example, If your goal is to become healthier, you could eat just one apple per day. That’s not too hard, right? After all, doesn’t one apple a day keep the doctor away? LOL!

Here’s another example, If you want to build your savings but feel your paycheck is not big enough, then start with just $1 per day. Do you know if you save just $1 per day at the end of a year, you will have $365 dollars. It may not yet be the amount you want, but it’s certainly better than zero.

The point I want to make here is don’t overthink it and don’t overdo it. You don’t always need an elaborate plan. You just need to start and do one thing per day. In my experience, the simpler the plan and the easier the action steps, the more guaranteed the results.

Conclusion

If you truly believe you can have it, persistently assert it, and consistently do one thing per day towards it, then you’ll surely get it.

To achieve your goals, you must develop a positive MINDSET and pursue your goals. And remember, without action, nothing happens.
