One of the keys to be happier at work is to work in a field of your passion. If you have not yet discovered your passion, I suggest that you choose one line of work and make it your definite aim.
Let’s talk briefly on the effects of unhappiness on the workforce. Unhappy and disengaged employees cost USA companies billion of dollars each year. This is based on a report from the Gallop Pull. When employees are unhappy, their work productivity decrease substantially. An unhappy employee can create a hostile setting for the rest of the team to work in.
Here’re 3 ways you can be happier at work:
1. First thing first, start your day in a great note. Morning prayers, meditations and high protein nutritional breakfast are great ways to start your day.
2. Triage your to do list on the order of importance. Ask yourself the following question: To have a happy day, what’s one task I must complete today? Once you identify that single task, go ahead and just do it before anything else. That way you’ll have the rest of the day to complete other tasks. This triage strategy will help you reduce your stress at work and produce great results.
3. Help a co-worker on a project. When we help others, it makes us happier. Therefore, helping your colleagues will make you happier at work. It’s also a great way to increase your likeability factor.
